The Friends of Center Cemetery, Inc. of East Hartford, Connecticut is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization incorporated November 8, 1989 to promote and preserve this historic town cemetery which was authorized in 1709 as Hartford’s second burying ground.
Walking through Center Cemetery’s entrance gate from your town’s busy Main St. I wasn’t prepared for the wonderful surprise – stepping back in time to picturesque old New England as I imagined it would be like. I can’t wait to return someday to paint a picture or two of it.
